AI in medical imaging
The artificial intelligence (AI) system recently adopted at Beijing Tiantan Hospital can extend the duration of treatment for patients suffering from cerebral ischemic stroke.
The AI system iStroke was developed by BioMind, an AI company that provides machine intelligence solutions for medical image processing.
By providing fast and accurate automated image analysis, the system can significantly reduce diagnostic imaging time and preoperative decision-making time. Therefore, the duration of treatment for cerebral ischemic stroke can be extended from 6 hours to 24 hours, said Miao Zhongrong, director of the hospital’s interventional neuroradiation center.
Ultra low temperature
A Chinese research institute has developed a prototype refrigerator to achieve ultra-low temperatures near absolute zero, which is the physical limit of temperature.
The Institute of Physics, which belongs to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said on Tuesday that it has developed a prototype refrigerator to achieve this ultra-low temperature, which is only 0.01 degrees higher than the absolute zero of -273.15 degrees Celsius.
Online professional training
According to data released by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, an online platform focused on training people in new professions has more than 8 million users.
The platform was jointly launched by China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Alibaba’s communications app DingTalk and aims to provide further training to professionals.
New professions primarily in the public health sector and emerging industries include blockchain technicians, online marketers, information security testers, online learning consultants, community health assistants and more.
